Actively Marketing "Destination Germany"
The Indian Sales Guide is a useful and important sales tool provided by the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) and the German Indian Pool partners to help you sell Germany. At the GNTB, we employ a wide range of marketing and sales measures to create a positive image of Germany as a travel and holiday destination in order to promote tourism to and within Germany.
 
The task of the GNTB Indian Sales and Marketing Board is to maintain a high level of growth. The Indian GNTB coordinate and implement activities tailored to their specific markets. These are based on two global megatrends which will continue to shape travel patterns over the coming years: culture and health.
 
The diverse range of tourism products on offer include FIT and group travel packages, business travel, meetings and incentives, tips for day excursions, offers for honeymooners, special products for families and last but not least information about German and fine Indian cuisine in Germany. City breaks and holidays in the nature reflect in addition the many facets of Germany as a holiday and travel destination. They include exiting trips to big cities and small towns and relaxating holidays as "back to nature". You are sure to find exactly what your customers are looking for!

In 2010 the main marketing theme will be the European cultural city Ruhr 2010. Together with "Creative Germany" a new and modern picture of Germany will be created also for young visitors. Hundreds of international events will take place in the Ruhr area together with many activities guests can do on their own. The Internet will provide you with detailed information and everything you need to know about this theme and more.

The Internet will also provide you with programs and information for the other key themes oft he next years:

  • 2011 "Health & Fitness holidays in Germany"
  • 2012  "Germany - destination for business travel"
 
These themes form the basis of our Indian sales and marketing Board activities. They are targeted to the specific needs and interests of customers in India. Close co-operation between international GNTB Boards and the destination management team at Head Board in Frankfurt am Main is also an important factor in the successful marketing of Germany.
 
We employ a wide variety of tools in our worldwide marketing and sales activities, both at Head Board and in India. We provide brochures and develop advertising campaigns and websites. The domain www.germany.travel is aimed specifically at end-consumers. The GNTB's "multiplier" strategy includes press work, lobbying opinion-formers, fact-finding tours for travel industry professionals and media representatives, trade fair presentations and organisation of travel trade workshops.
