Roman Monuments, Cathedral of St. Peter and Church of Our Lady in Trier

Trier is Germany's oldest town, a symbol of the passage of time. The romantic town on the River Moselle is characterised by architectural monuments, churches and Roman ruins. It is here in this 2,000-year-old town where Roman emperors once lived. Trier Cathedral, Germany's oldest episcopal church, is a major attraction. Trier's impressive legacy includes the Römerbrücke bridge, the Barbarathermen thermal baths and of course the famous landmark of the town, the 1,800-year-old Porta Nigra gate.
