Bad Tölz's romantically lit and historical Marktstrasse is the ideal place to find yourself in the run-up to Christmas. At festively lit stalls you can watch artists and craftsmen at work - chocolatiers for instance - and sample yuletide offerings such as "tree cakes", baked apples and hot chestnuts.
