The attractive wooden booths at Amberg's Christmas market on Marktplatz are festively decorated and offer crafts including dolls, needlework, Christmas tree decorations and handcarved wooden items from the Erzgebirge mountains. The medieval market and the "living Nativity scene" are popular attractions as Christmas approaches.
